Staff shortages put cancer patients out in cold

Cancer services at the Gold Coast hospital will cease taking new patients from next week following the departure of qualified nursing staff from the hospital's cancer support services.

It is believed between seven to eight nurses have notified the hospital of their intention to leave, and a statewide shortage of suitably qualified replacements will see services curtailed until new staff can be recruited.
