Nurses await back pay

ABC, July 21, 2011 The New South Wales Nurses Association says the Far West Local Health District has admitted local nurses have been underpaid. Nurses have taken their complaints to the association's annual conference this week, arguing they are owed thousands of dollars in back pay. Nurse union delegate Linda Griffiths says under the mistake, shift nurses entitled to penalty rates could have lost as much as $300 a fortnight while on holidays, for the past six years.
