Massachusetts Nurses Association, May 19, 2008 Date set for a vote in House of Representatives for HB 4714, An Act Relative to Patient Safety, on May 22 at the State House! On Thursday, May 22, the House of Representatives will bring HB 4714, The Patient Safety Act, to the House floor for a vote. This bill will set a limit on the number of hospital patients a nurse has to care for at once. If passed, HB 4714 would stop hospitals from relentlessly continuing to increase nursing patient loads. We need to be sure to have a presence at the State House on the day of the vote. Please wear scrubs or MNA blue and your most comfortable shoes. We will need people there from 12:30 until the session ends, which could be as late at 10:00 PM. Come for as long as you can!
